Colin Huang Zheng (born January 1, 1980) is a Chinese entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist, best known as the founder and former CEO of Pinduoduo, China’s largest agricultural e-commerce platform. He also holds stakes in several other limited liability companies registered in the Cayman Islands, including Pinduoduo. As of November 2024, his net worth is estimated at $35.3 billion by Forbes, placing him among the wealthiest individuals in China.

Huang was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, into a middle-class family, with both parents working in factories. He attended Hangzhou Foreign Language School before enrolling at Chu Kuchen Honors College of Zhejiang University at 18, where he studied computer science. During his freshman year, he was recognized as a fellow of the Melton Foundation. In 2015, Huang launched Pinduoduo, a Shanghai-based e-commerce platform focused on agriculture and consumer goods. Pinduoduo went public in the United States in July 2018, raising $1.6 billion, with Huang’s 47% stake valued at $14 billion, making him the thirteenth richest person in China at the time.
Huang stepped down as CEO on July 1, 2020, but remained chairman until March 17, 2021, when he transferred his voting rights to Pinduoduo’s Board to pursue long-term personal and professional opportunities.

Huang has been a major advocate for philanthropy, particularly in scientific research, social responsibility, and agricultural innovation. By June 2020, he had reduced his Pinduoduo stake to 29.4%, donating 2.37% to charitable foundations and 7.74% to the Pinduoduo Partnership.
